Laksa Sarawak Brings Bloggers Together!

November 21st, 2009 Amiey Alen 1 comment

Besides me, who else loves Sarawak Laksa? Raise up your hands so that we can exchange the ideas of where to get the best Sarawak Laksa in town. :P

I know other bloggers like Cyril, Fahriee and Norman loves Sarawak Laksa. We ever spent few hours at Golden Arch enjoying the laksa. They even did a second bowl for Sarawak Laksa, while I was so full and managed to eat only a bowl.

What else to mention here? I could say, I so much in love with Sarawak Laksa, if could I want to eat it everyday. And my favourite station would be the Golden Arch in Third Mile and iCafe at Rubber Road. The Sarawak Laksa there is totally yummy! If I were having bigger stomach for loads of food, I would take two or three bowls of Sarawak Laksa. But since I cannot, I will only can finish one bowl of it. But it’s yummmyyy!!!

Okay, I have to eat Sarawak Laksa carefully. As anyone of us knows, Sarawak Laksa has prawns and I am allergy to it, but who cares. I ate a lot prawns nowadays. *thanks to Cyril for that*. But another case is, Fahriee, Cyril and I went to The Spring to taste the Sarawak Laksa at Madam Tang’s. Horribly, I cannot finished the laksa, and it tasted..Ermm. Only god knows what it means when I did not managed to eat the whole laksa. And then, because of the laksa taste, I managed to left my waste products on vomiting badly in The Spring’s toilet. Another thing happened was, no tissue paper and no host pipe for me to  clean up myself after vomiting. *sad with The Spring Mall*

So, I vomited badly, with all the laksa were pushed out from my body through my mouth. And that, I think, the price for Sarawak laksa which is around RM11.80 is not worth it for me. For that kind of price, I can get myself two bowls of Sarawak laksa which is more nicer than the one at The Spring.

Back to bloggers love Sarawak Laksa, I think most of you have read my status last few days in Facebook, and most of it was regarding my craves for Sarawak Laksa. If you follows me through Twitter, you would also see me with my Sarawak laksa status sometimes, and inviting others to join me for laksa. *everyday eat laksa with Cyril, boring juga* LOL

And that’s all about it. I love Sarawak Laksa so much. I hope I could bring back the cook for Sarawak laksa to my house, so that he or she could cooks me Sarawak laksa whenever I want.  :P

And I will be losing from your blogs radar, as I will be going back to my parents’s house to enjoy my holiday tomorrow. Since at my parents’ house has no internet connection due to the damaged modem, I guess, I will be seeing you guys again next week. One week Holiday! Happy Holiday all!

The Loss of Parking Ticket

November 18th, 2009 Amiey Alen 7 comments

I had never experienced this before, but I was just wondering whether this idea has been used by others or has been tried by others earlier than me. I wanted to try but I have no courages to try those kind of silly things.

So, what is it about? Erm. Nothing, but have you ever lost your parking ticket? How much did you pay for it? If it’s at The Spring, you would have to pay for RM35 for the loss ticket.

But,instead of paying it, have you ever tried on taking another new ticket, so that you would only pay for the parking ticket instead of the loss ticket.  I want to try, but tak berani!

If anyone here has tried this thing, inform me. I want to know. But I think, this thing is impossible to be tried. As far as I knew, every time you press button to get a ticket, there is a detector underneath the road to detect any vehicles. So, if you only take it, without your car being detected by the road detector, I guess you could not make it.

So, if anyone here is willing to try, or ever experienced this, inform me. I would really love to know. If it’s possible to get a new parking ticket, and pay only for the parking instead of paying the loss ticket, every one would be very happy to know this. And would not feel any worries of loosing their parking tickets. ;P

Stuck in The Lift

November 16th, 2009 Amiey Alen No comments

I do not know what to write about, but I want to write something. I know, I should do revision as I am on exam mode. Final exam some more. But nahh, I’m too lazy for that. And I hate what I smell right now. It’s coming from the toilet. It happened when I was about to pee, and my upstairs neighbor flushed their toilet, and suddenly an unpleasant smells came into my nose.Urghh! I hate this smell.

So, what actually I want to write. Nothing! But, something happened today while I was on my way to class. I went out of my hostel alone, and headed to the lift. And when I was in the lift, I waited for about 10minutes for the lift to bring me down. But sadly, after few times pushing the same button, the lift did not bring me down. I was so nervous, and hit the emergency button two times.

On my mind was, hell. I’m stuck in the lift. And the phone line was not stable. I tried hitting the same button again, so that the lift could bring me down, but then again. It does not bring me down. I was still on the same level. I was freaking nervous and wanted to call someone but my phone does not work out.

Thennnnn, I realized. Hell, I was hitting the button for the same level I was in. I mean, I was at the 5th level, and wanted to go to G level, but instead of hitting the G level, I pushed the 5th level button. No wonder the lift does not goes down and no wonder I was still stuck at the 5th level.

Thank god there was no people with me. I was alone, and hoping that no ones listened when I rang the emergency bell. Thank god… ;P

Special Thanks to Glenreagh Sdn. Bhd.

This post is made to cover the overall events that happened last week. It’s not to cover the forum, but just to cover what I experienced and felt during those days.

I would really love to say Thank You so much, especially to Glenreagh Sdn. Bhd. for giving me such chances to attend and cover Malaysia Global Economic Forum-Bosnia. It was not only that, I was also being invited for all events including the State Banquet Dinner, and Lunch @ Fours Points Hotel.

Me as a blogger felt that it was more than a blogger to have such privileges on attending such a pricey event. I did mentioned to you guys for the price of the hole events right? But I got to attend those FREE! why? Because of Glenreagh Sdn. Bhd. being so kind to me and invited me to the whole events.

There were few things happened during the forum, but I think, I have no rights to complain that small matters, as I got few more interesting big matters to blog about. From the first day of the forum, which was the opening ceremony I attended,  I was treated well enough by Glenreagh Sdn. Bhd. staffs. Even Mr. Nordin himself still recognized me and greeted us first when he first saw us. Even though we were seated at the media table, but it was a fortunate moment for us bloggers. Food were served for free, and Anne together with Lilyana Aziz came to us, took photos with us, while other medias and delegates were watching and maybe wondering about who were we, until the organizers came to us and greeted us.

Besides that, we were actually not invited to attend the State Banquet Dinner as the dinner was taken over by the State Government of Sarawak, and Glenreagh Sdn. Bhd. was no more in charge of the invitations. But, Mr Nordin offered us to come, during the coffee session with Dr. Sam, and yes, we went to the State Banquet Dinner. Can you see that? We were treated more than a blogger.

Even during the Lunch after the Closed door session with Tun Mahathir, we were invited by Anne herself to go for it and being seated at the table marked as “BiH Entourage”. She even came together with us in a car. And then, the Closed door session itself, all media were chased out soon after the H.E President leaves the place, but we all stayed, being allowed to stay as one of the organizers. No more a blogger, but an organizer! ;P

Anne Velu ((Marketing Director of Glenreagh Sdn. Bhd.) even invited us to come and have a chit-chat with her just after the State banquet dinner. She ordered us food, and asked her assistant to buy us food, so that we could have tidbits while talking. She even stopped doing her important work during the night to entertain us in her room.

I think, I should not talk more about this. I wrote and posted up everything, and it’s up to you guys whether you guys read or not the previous posts I made for this forum. All I want to say now is, Thanks so much to Glenreagh Sdn. Bhd. for giving me this chance to attend and helping in organizing this forum. I felt so much pleasure to be part of your team during those days.

As for me, because of Glenreagh Sdn. Bhd., I met lots of people. For instance, the founder of pyramids in Bosnia (Dr. Sam), Bosnia-Herzegovina Ambassador (H.E Ensar Eminovic), director of Glenreagh Sdn. Bhd. himself (Mr. Nordin Abdullah), Anne Velu, David Velu and others. I even got the chance to hear the LIVE version of speeches given by Tun Mahathir himself.

Once again, thanks to Glenreagh Sdn. Bhd for the chances given to me. And congrats for the success and well-organized Malaysia Global Business Forum-Bosnia. I hope I could meet all of you once again in the future. Thanks and congratulations Glenreagh Sdn. Bhd. :)

Coffee Session with Dr. Semir Osmanagic (Founder of Pyramids in Bosnia)

November 12th, 2009 Amiey Alen No comments

You maybe realized about the missing post I made regarding Dr. Sam, the founder of pyramids in Bosnia. Yeah, I skipped the post, and made few post regarding the forum first, then this post. Some even made live blogging regarding this post, But I did not. I need to re-check what notes had I took during the coffee session for me to post about. I had a coffee session with him last Tuesday at Starbucks, The Spring, Kuching.

Semir Osmanagic is a founder of pyramids in Bosnian town of Visoko. His real name is Semir Osmanagic. H.E Ensar once said, Dr. Sam is Bosnians Indiana Jones. he discovered the pyramids in Bosnia and wrote a book regarding the pyramids. He found pyramids in Bosnia 4 years ago, which was in the year 2005.

He even said that the soil of those pyramids aged around 12 thousands years, and the founding of these pyramids are not accepted by others. He feels that these are pyramids as all pyramids have entrances, passageways and chambers, so do the Bosnian pyramids. And from what he knew, pyramid is to protect something which is valuable. For instance, temple could be found in certain pyramids, which means that, ancient people built pyramids to protect temple from any kind of disasters as they thought that temple were so valued.

He considers the pyramids in Bosnia are perfects in  its edges and faces. He even claims that one of the  pyramids in Bosnia is the biggest pyramid on  earth. When he wrote a first book about these pyramids, he later received letters and started his non-government fund archeological activities.

For those who wants to know more about Bosnian pyramids, look at it. It’s interesting to know much about Bosnia has pyramids. And it was nice for meeting Dr. Sam and got to know more about Bosnia. I guess, we never thought that Bosnia has pyramids until now. Thanks Dr. Sam for willing to meet us, and gave me lots of infos regarding Bosnia, especially the Bosnian pyramids. Now, I think, Bosnia is one of the place that I want to visit in the future. I Google-ed it up, and found out that it’s not what I even thought about Bosnia. It has change a lot. And it’s a nice place to be visited.

I wish I could attend the summer camp and come as the volunteer for the archeological activities which will be held next year. But nahh… No money… really wish to go and see it myself… Sigh…

Malaysia Global Business Forum-Bosnia (Part 3: The Closed Door Forum)

November 12th, 2009 Amiey Alen No comments

After enjoying my time so much with Anne, David and Hazrita the night before, we had the task to woke up very early in the morning to attend the Closed Door Session with Tun Mahathir by invitation only. As you could notice that, we went there at first as the media, and then, we were part of the organizer, as what Anne said.

The closed door session was cool. Media were not allowed to come in, only observers and ministry were allowed to be in. So, Fahriee, Cyril, Norman and me were no more a media as we were allowed to be in. Anne said, we were one of the organizers. So, we were there, and before they start the closed door session, we were there to help Anne and others.

Me with the H.E President Table Tag

It was a pleasure for us to help her. We were called to be in the secretariat room to help Jane to fold table-tags names for the VVIP and those who participates. We even had a discussion with Dr. Sam regarding who is important and who is going to sit here and there. Thank God Dr. Sam was there with us and helped us to handle all those thing. I even took photo with his book regarding the pyramids in Bosnia which was then given to Tun. See, I was the first to hold and touch the book before being handed to Tun. Yayy! Settled that, those who were invited were allowed to come in.

Dr. Sam Book of Pyramids to be Handed to Tun Mahathir

Done with the arrival of Tun and H.E President, the event then started with the speeches given by Tun himself and H.E President too. Which then ended where H.E President left the hall. And all media were chased out. Because it was a closed session, and I guess, no ones allowed to bring what’s discussed inside to outside. The Q & A was a bit okay. And it lasted not that long which we could see that we then ended the session. Tun and other VVIPs were tagged along the media who waited outside, and were brought to see the exhibition on each of every booth.

Tun Mahathir Giving His Speech

All of us then were asked to go to Four Points by Sheraton to have our lunch there. Came with Cyril and me in one car were Anne and David. They both are hilarious. They were so funny in the car. Love them both! While in Fahriee’s car were Jane and her husband. While Norman brought Diong with him to the hotel.

Tun Mahathir Giving Speech @ Lunch Time

We reached there safely and immediately headed to the Rainforest Hall to have our seats. From the status of one of the organizers, we were seated at the Bosnia-Herzegovina Entourage. The arrival of Tun and his wife, H.E President and Sarawak’s Chief Minister and others a few minutes after we arrived. The event started with the speech given by Tun.

I could say, Tun is funny. He looks thin and honestly, he looks unwell. But the speech he gave during the lunch was fun. it was funny when he said something like, he does not know who is he presenting off. If it’s Sarawak, they were the Chief Minister of Sarawak coming to present Sarawak. He is not presenting Malaysia as he is not a Prime Minister anymore. And he said, he maybe presenting the owner of the Four Points by Sheraton Hotels, even Ting Pek Khing were also coming. Tun was funny. During the whole speech given by him, it was a lot more to funny things. People laughed and laughed listening to what he said.

The event then being continued with the exchanging memorandum between Bosnian Delegates in Business and Malaysian Delegates in Business. When it’s done,we were served with food. And it was damn so good! It’s nice. and YUMMMMMMYYYYYY!!!!!! I enjoyed the food especially the dessert which was the mango fruit. It’s simple but nice. I like! ;P

Us with Jane and her Husband

While eating, few things happened such as the cake cutting between the Defense Minister of Bosnia and Foreign Minister of Bosnia who shares the same birthday. It was a surprise for both of them, and I think Norman should join them too, as Norman shares birthday with them. Done that, all the VVIPs were leaving for the press conference which we thought they left to leave Kuching. We talked and enjoyed the atmosphere, and being the last who left the hall. went upstairs and saw Lilyana and she got to see us.

Without Norman, but with Anne Velu

What happened then? We all (excluding Norman) were agreed to tour her around Kuching and accompany her to buy Kek Lapis Sarawak. We brought her to MBKS (cat museum) to see all scenes from above of Kuching. We brough her to Bing coffee and introduced to her Kuching very own Starbucks. LOL we introduced to her everything surrounding even the public buses. She said, she might be coming down to Kuching again to see STB regarding the RWMF @ 2010. She is one of the editor for Time Out Kuala Lumpur magazine, and interested to cover RWMF event 2010. Hope she could come soon, as I love being around her. She talks so smooth and polite. I like!  and she said, I am too tiny! LOL

The Polite Lady, Lilyana Aziz & me

Done that, we brought her back to hotel. And was informed by Anne that we missed the chances to take photos with Tun as she sent her to the airport few minutes before we arrived. She was looking for us so that we could take photos with Tun, but unfortunately, we were not there. But Norman got his photo with Tun,and I am so jealous with that. Never mind, I have my photo with Robert Pattinson’s twin. :P

Malaysia Global Business Forum (Part 2: State Banquet Dinner)

November 11th, 2009 Amiey Alen No comments

I did not managed to come for the morning and evening session, as they were having the full conference during the day. And what I heard was, Fahriee and Norman was not coming too for the full conference as every one of us had our own commitment during the day. BUT we did went to the Sarawak new Legislative Building for the State Banquet Dinner.

State Banquet Dinner Trio

The banquet dinner was taken over by the State Government of Sarawak, and were attended by Sarawak’s Chief Minister, Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib bin Mahmud,  President of Bosnia-Herzegovina (Dr. Haris Silajdži? ), and others. The event started at 8 pm with the arrivals of all VVIPs. Everything went out so smooth and well-organized.

State Banquet Dinner Joined by Lilyana and Jane

Fahriee, Cyril, Norman and me were having the state banquet dinner of our own. Together with Anne Velu (Marketing Director of Glenreagh Sdn. Bhd.), which was then joined by Lilyana Aziz (Brand Ambassador) and Jane. We had fun even though we ate at the kitchen where the caterer was about to leave and clean the place up. But they still kept on treating us with food, and we then left the place and headed to Four Points by Sheraton, which was invited by Anne herself.

Anne is a humble and nice person to be hung up around with. She is  funny, and talkative but in a good way. I love being around her, as she concerns so much about us, and treated us more than a media. Together with us in her room was Hazrita Hatta, a Delegate Coordinator. Both of them are fantastic! No regrets on joining them in this 3 days forum.

So, what did we do in Anne’s room? We talked and had supper a lot! hahaha Anne even stopped doing her work just to entertain and story telling with us. She shared with us whatever she knew, and even bought us food using the in dining service. I ordered my mee mamak, and it was super duper delicious. But I could not finished it as it was too many. ;P

So, what did we talked about? we talked a lot. And Anne’s shared with us about her family. Who is her sons and so on. We then joined by her husband. Saw him undressed ( Not that I intentionally looked at him while he undressed, but I coincidentally looked at him while he undressed, and I immediately closed my eyes after that) :P

Anne’s husband is cute. Named David Velu (CEO of Dasar Kurnia). He is talkative in a good way, religious, funny, and nice to be hung up around with. I love watching both of them joking. They sounds harsh, but not. That is the way they joked, and I love watching it. All I could do was, laughing. OUT SO LOUD! ;P

Teasing Cyril while he wants to take photo of this TV

We left three of them when it was too late. Norman was doing some massage to Anne’s foot before we left. We left after we found out that we need to leave as we will be waking up early to attend the closed forum on the next day. It was the whole day fun with Anne, David and Hazrita. Damn fun!

My Dearest Darling, Cyril Dason

Sorry guys, this post is much more about Anne and how she treated us. And about others too. I cannot post up anything regarding the forum as I did not managed to attend the full conference. So, this is what we had on the second day of forum, which we were supposed to attend the State Banquet Dinner, but our very own State Banquet Dinner was much more fun, enjoyable and the food were much more nicer!!! ;P

P/S: Fahriee, Cyril, Norman and me sold our ass off at DUN… RM10 for three asses… LOL that’s what Fahriee said… ;P

Malaysia Global Business Forum-Bosnia (Part 1)

November 9th, 2009 Amiey Alen 1 comment

I attended later than I supposed. I reached there when it was about at 3pm. I only listened to few presentations regarding the financial banking ins Bosnia-Herzegovina, Tanjung Manis Halal Hub, and Halal Business Park, Bosnia.  And I will be publishing about those forum in details when I got time later. Since now, I just got home, and I am a bit tired, I guess, I will be publishing only my experiences attending the first day forum.

It was fun when you got privileges like this given by “orang kuat” to cover big events for your blog. The task is easy. You will have only to blog about this. And attend what you are suppose to attend. Listens and then retrieve it in your blog. As for me, this is the biggest event I have ever attended in my life, and the greatest thing to blog about.

Going and attending this 3 days forum is the great experiences I will get in life. The first day forum was not that bad. I got chances to meet all “big people” and they are so much humble to everyone. And specifically, they treat us the best they could. I feel like, it is nice to have mingled around these kind of people.

Food were served and nice. Seated were provided for us bloggers. I got even have the chance to see twin of Robert Pattinson everyday until the last day of this forum.

And one thing for sure. It happened today. While everyone was listening to the speaker, suddenly a man came out and went to the back of the hall and said ” helo! you called me justnow ha??” and everyone was like laughing their ass off looking to that man talking through the phone out so loud, until the whole hall could listened to his voice. Yeah, everyone was laughing out loud. When the man back to his place, he suddenly pulled his glass off and it fell down. And again, everyone eyes were on him. Fahriee and me was laughing like hell, I could not stand more, and I went outside to laugh. It was so funny. I mean, the man was making so much funny things. I even laughed while taking supper after attending the Coffee session @ Starbucks with Dr. Sam and Mr. Nordin. just now. It was damn funny that the guy himself left earlier. He maybe felt shy and ashamed of what he had done during the forum.

But after all, what I attended today will be so meaningful to me. It was fun, funny and awesome. Meeting Dr. Semir Sam at Starbucks just now gave me lots of information about pyramids in Bosnia. Have you ever think that Bosnia has pyramids? I did not know that, but since the day I met Mr. Ensar (last few weeks), and met Dr. Sam today, now I realized Bosnia is a good place to visit. Since it has a unique pyramids, it will be very great to be in Bosnia later.

I would like to announce here, we are invited to attend the State Banquet Dinner at the old DUN by Mr. Nordin himself. I was kind of… yayy!!!! Our passes were actually for everything but the State Banquet Dinner, as the dinner is being taken over by the state. So, just now, Mr. Nordin told us that we could come over. Even though the passes we are given is not inclusive for the dinner, but he said so. And yeah, we will be going. yayy! Thanks a lot to Mr. Nordin. At last, we are not having any frustrations for that. Our media privileges could access every events that occurs these few days. No more exceptions. Yehaa!!!

Opening Ceremony of Malaysia Global Business Forum-Bosnia

November 9th, 2009 Amiey Alen No comments

A delayed post by me. I supposed to update regarding this last night, but I was too tired, and managed to only woke up at 11.30 just now. Done everything, and quickly gets some ideas from what was happening last night.

We came earlier to the Borneo Convention Center Kuching, and to be exact, we came at the very punctual time. And were being seated at the table leveled with “MEDIA”. Greeted few people, as in Mr. Nordin, Anne Velu, Lilyana Aziz, and others.

Pehin Seri, and all delegates came out few minutes then. The ceremony started with the speech from Mr. Nordin, and followed by the President of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Pehin Seri himself. Also coming were Alfred Jabu, George Chan, Defence Minister of Bosnia (Dr. Selmo Cikotic), Ambassador Bosnia-Herzegovina (Mr. Ensar Eminovic), and also Leo Michael Toyad Abdullah.

In Pehin’s speech, he talked more about how Asia developed well with the financial crisis occurring. He even praised BCCK for the good effort on doing such thing as this forum. He said more about the forum, but I did not bring my pen and notebook to write the notes of what they are saying. So, sorry guys. :P

After the speeches session, they were the souvenir giving ceremony from Bosnia to Pehin on behalf of Sarawak. When it ended, we were served with food. And I could say here, the food was not fulfilling my emptied stomach. We even have supper with Lilyana after the forum done. The food was too European for us Asian. LOL

anyways, I enjoyed my whole day yesterday. regardless the food, everything went out so smooth and enjoyable. I will be there at BCCK after this, to attend the conference for today. And we will be going to Starbucks, The Spring tonight to attend a Coffee Session with Dr. Sam and Mr Nordin himself. Quite a busy day, but I would not regret of this opportunity. It’s fun! ;)

Media Pass to Malaysia Global Bussiness Forum-Bosnia

November 8th, 2009 Amiey Alen No comments

I have received my Media Pass to attend Malaysia Global Bussiness Forum-Bosnia yesterday. Met up with Norman at Kado Cafe somewhere near Crown Tower. And the food was not that good. I wonder why. I exchanged my food with Cyril as what I ordered does not fulfilled what I was hoping for. But Cyril’s food too does not fulfilled what I want.

Then, we went to Four Points by Sheraton. Meeting up with Anne Velu (Marketing Director of Glenreagh Sdn. Bhd.), together with Lilyana Aziz who is a Brand Ambassador. It was fun. We talked and laughed so hard. It was just nice on meeting both of them. I was shocked to know that Anna’s is quite old in her age than her looks. And I love the way Lilyana’s talking. She sounds smooth and polite. I like!

We went home after that as the waitress had already “halau” us by cleaning up the whole place. So, we went home with goodies bag and what’s important in the bag, is our Media Pass. Thanks to Anne, Lilyana, Rita, Nordin Abdullah for giving us this sort of chances to meet up and going for such forum. Thanks!
